Re: T30 Recovery CD Set Needed
Nice to find a place full of IBM enthusiasts. been reading through as we have around 17 or 18 T30's we use in the Motor trade. We lost our recovery CD's so hoping RBS can help out here. Wish I found this place sooner as its a resourse for every problem we are likely to encounter.

Re: T30 Recovery CD Set Needed
Dunno if I need recovery disk set. I DO know I need some kind of recovery....
When turing the unit on, the fan starts up but keeps running, no transition to HD, and it runs on and on until I kill it. I removed the memory and it gives the 1-3-3-1 beep. That's as far as I have gotten replacing, exchanging, singling the sticks (there are 2) don't produce any result other than fan starts up but keeps running, etc.
I am afraid I caused all of this when I opened the panel right over (or under, depending) the sticks, and the reason I did that was because I felt that aluminum plate was very hot to the touch. And it seemed the laptop runs hot, maybe turning itself off (?) when I try to run it with external USB keyboard and mouse. Did I somehow ground (meaning: destroy) the sticks? If so, will the recovery disks help? If not, what now?
Thanks for any help you may provide,
MR2

Re: T30 Recovery CD Set Needed
I was given 2 T30s both in disrepair and managed to get one working after cannibalizing parts from the other. Unfortunately I don't think I was given the original drive or it was wiped before I got it.
I have Windows 7 installed and tracked many of the drivers down. But after reading here I'd like to try the original software.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks - but it has an XP Pro COA and I would like to restore it to that factory default. I could install it manually but if there is an easier way I would like to try that first!
