ThinkPad button
Can anyone direct me to a site where I can download the software that will allow me to use the ThinkPad button? Just got a new PC and am having to load all the software. I looked around the Lenova download site but did not recognize anything that looked like what I need. Thanks!
Re: ThinkPad button
On a new build I'd guess that you need;
Productivity Center
Lenovo System Interface Driver
Hotkey Utility Driver
As far as where to get these it depends on your machine type/model (see the sticker on the bottom of the machine). Also, are you trying to get this key to bring up rescue and recovery on boot, or in windows to bring up the productivity center or both?

Re: ThinkPad button
A good discussion about the ThinkPad Button can be found here:

After reloading my Win98 T21 with WinXP the ThinkPad button no longer did anything. I used the method described in that topic and the other one referenced in it.
The WinXP Hotkey Utility Driver, which I had already installed, did nothing for the ThinkPad Button.

Re: ThinkPad button
All the Thinkpad button does is bring up Access Thinkpad. If you want to do a factory reset you would press F11 on IBM Splash on start up. I know in other models you press the Thinkpad Button to begin Factory Reset.
If you're pretty good with handling shortcuts. I'd say dig into your C: drive and find a way to bind the .exe of Access Thinkpad to your Thinkpad Button setting. Right off the top of my head I can't tell you how to do it. It's just a suggestion if you can't find another way
Good luck.
EDIT:
Start>>My Computer>>C: IBM_Preload (yours may have a different name)>>Program Files>>ibmhelp>>atp3 (this is what starts your Access Thinkpad.
Now as far as creating a hotkey... i'm not too sure about. Maybe someone else has some suggestions???

I dug up my IBM Restore discs and reinstalled the system, now all the IBM features are working.emeraldgirl08 wrote:All the Thinkpad button does is bring up Access Thinkpad.
