T23 Docking Station Recognizes AC adapter as a USB device?!

hi,

i have a little problem/issue with the docking station i just got for my T23 from ebay

all the other ports on it (USB, parallel, etc) work fine, but when i plug in my old reliable T2x-compatible AC adapter in the docking station's AC adapter port, i get the USB icon/logo and sound pop up on my T23 screen as though i was plugging something into the USB port?! needless to say, it doesn't charge the battery...

do i need to 'reroute'/reset something? is this something on the T23's side or is my docking station defective?

EDIT: after plugging and unplugging it several times in a row, it eventually does start charging the battery. but i have to do it several times in a row every time i want it to work...would this be a faulty/'loose' (?) AC adapter port on the docking station or...?

Sounds more like a problem with the docking port interface or something in the laptop. If this is your first and only docking port, then you can't rule out something in the T23 itself causing the problem. Could be a simple as a broken or bent pin or a hard-to-trace bug on the motherboard. If you have used the T23 in another dock before and it worked fine, then most likely you have a defective dock.
