Help with T21 and Windows 2000 boot problem

#1 Post by tselling » Mon Aug 24, 2009 5:56 pm

I have a T21 that will not boot normally. I enter Username and Password and then I just get a empty display (normal background color) with the cursor (arrow not hourglass). I found if I enter ctl-alt-del it progresses to loading User profile and actually boots normally. But this is not acceptable since its going into a 5th grade class. The kids know to press ctl-alt-del (like the display says) before they get to enter their username and password... but will not remember to have to press ctl-alt-del after (especially on one out of several laptops).

This started after I tried to get an Intel wireless B card working. The Intel Windows 2000 drivers don't seem to be working for some reason (not connecting to AP)... and I installed and uninstalled various versions and it left me with this semi working system as described above.

Anyone else seen this problem and know how to fix? I already tried Registry Healer but no joy.
