T30 won't boot when docked, sometimes.

This just started occurring a few months ago. I use the thinkpad at home and at work. At home it is docked with the Dock 2 (2877-10U) with no external monitor. At work it is docked with the Port Replicator 2 (74p6733) with an external monitor, printer, external keyboard. To get it to boot up I have to powerup and boot into WInXP Pro undocked on battery power. Then shut down and dock it then power up / boot. Sometimes even when it is shutdown and not switched between the docks I have to undock/power up/boot xp/shutdown then redock to the same dcok it was already on, to power up and use thinkpad. What gives? ON battery or when plugged directly using the ac power pack it runs fine. Only when docked does this occur and it is sporadic. Please help.
