Only soldering ram slot and new Cmos battery?

Hi,
folks. I hope you can help me.
After my Thinkpad T30 got problems with the ram slot i worked with pressure on it. But then it didn't work.
Then a error came, and i couldn't handle it and I dismissed the thinkpad.
Now, I want to have a thinkpad. And I want to repair it.
So after pressing hard on the ram slot, I made the thinkpad to boot.
Before it was stuck at the bios. So after Bios there came a error massage:

ERROR
0271: Check date and time setting
Error
Expansion Rom not initialized - PCI on Motherboard
Bus:00, Device:00, Function:00

What does this mean? Only a new cmos batterie? or is the mainboard broken that it's not worth to solder the mainboard?

The first error will be repaired with a CMOS battery replacement. The second error is usually caused by an invalid boot order in BIOS, an invalid BIOS option set, or no hard drive seen. Do you have a working and loaded (with XP) hard drive in the T30? See this thread for some discussion of the issue -

At first i want to solder the ram slot.
then replace the battery.

I think the second error is coaused because I removed the hard drive, could it be?

Yes, the second error could be caused by no hard drive present.
