T30 dead: no clue on what is the problem

#1 Post by InitialCondition » Mon Jan 18, 2010 5:01 pm

Hello guys,

Suddenly, my T30 is dead. With AC adapter plugged in, there is no LED light for power. Even with battery removed and with AC adapter plugged in, still there is no light at all. Of course, T30 is not responsive to the power button: it does not boot up. As T30 was serviced with the memory socket problem years ago, I tried with one of the memory cards removed, and still T30 shows no LED light. :(

Can it be due to the dead CMOS battery or just dead motherboard? It's been working more than 8 years, but I hate to let it go. I hope there is a simple fix. If you have any idea on what's wrong, please let me know. Thank you!

i think if it was the cmos battery, you would be able to still power up, as i had this issue on an R30 just recently. I think it might be a dead board. There is a member here that might be able to help with this issue though. i will get you the name

Did you try removing the battery, disconnecting the AC, and pushing and releasing the power button?

Also on the 10th push- hold down the power button for twenty seconds. Do this three times and put the battery back in and reconnect the AC adapter.
