IBM Rapid Restore locks up

#1 Post by john1in2 » Thu Feb 11, 2010 2:42 pm

I got a 'new' T30. Yeah! Has XP Pro and all latest drivers.

The 40GB disk has only 5GB used up of 40 GB.

First thing I did was run rapid restore and allocate 20% of the HDD to the service partition.

It rebooted and now I get a message-

"Low disk space" you are runnint out of disk space on the IBM_SERVICE(E:), to free space on this drive by deleting old or unnecessary files, click here..."

And when I try to run IBM Rapid restore I get "IBM Rapid Restore PC Failed to initialize because thereis no enough space to copy necessary files to the service partition."

So even though I increased the size, it apparently did not take. The partition is visible and is pnly 1.45GB despite my attempt to up its size.

So questions -
(1) how do I reset rapid restore? (it runs automatically on bootup now)
(2) can I manually resize the partition easily and will this fix the issue?
(3) suggestions?
