T23 still soilders on!

I just got a T42 It's ok, but it's fan is noisy. I did the TPfan control, but that just turns off a fan to what is a hot processor in comparison to the T23.

I recently upgraded from Opera 9.6 to 10.10.

All I can say is wow! It is so much faster and zippier. Google reader runs fast, youtube runs pretty quick.

I got the t42 for a good price, so instead of becoming my primary laptop, it will become a work laptop, and the t23 will continue to soldier on as my primary home surfing laptop.

The keyboard really is much better on the t23 I think.

A T42 should run circles around a T23 (I have both, also). Did you do a fresh recovery of XP, or does it still have the former owner's system on it? Tell us which model you have from the sticker on the bottom, all 7 digits please.

I agree, as I also have the two of them. While I've always enjoyed the T23, the T42 should really run well by comparison. In fact it's my second favorite after my T60/60p models. The last of the really great 15" 4:3 IPS / Flexview displays.

I made a serious error with the t23 running a poor script which slowed the surfing speed on it. Now that Ive upgraded to opera 10.10 and ditched a whole bunch of bloat from upgrades, it really does work as fast as the t42 for standard everyday surfing and word processing.
