I don't get it...even the SL6VC which is the fastest CPU I'd advise anyone to put in a T30 can be found for under $30 delivered...what are you looking to spend?

Celeron in a T30? Why? Had IBM thought that it made sense, they would've offered it in some low-end model, but they didn't...

The most common is the 2.00GHz CPU Intel SL6FK.
Above that, the T30 really runs hot.

I have found the 2.0 CPU and 1.25 gig of memory, more than adequate for everything I have asked my 8 or so T30's to do. I run the Omega ATI drivers, switched to Avast for Anti Vir, as AVG has gotten to be a hog and done a few minor tweaks and love the usefulness of them. I also have R40's and A31p's. The R40's Im just not impressed with. I love the 31p's but they are just too big. The T30 form factor is darn near perfect.

hello

i am running on one of my many t30s a 2.4gh cel with 1gig of ram its my preferred t30 and is more punchy than my t30 p4 2.0gh with 2gig , idont burn dvds on it although its ported to a tv for film playback and all the normal stuff like word and internet and some games been running a couple of years no problems, i might get the other mem slot sorted though.

hope this helps ian.

ps.. there are 2 fan types so if you have a 2g in there it should be the correct fan and use artic silver it takes a few hours of use to settle down.
