Connecting a slave monitor?

#1 Post by brianmallorca » Wed Aug 31, 2011 9:52 am

Hi, my apologies in advance if I am in the wrong section or should not even be here!! I have a Thinkpad Type2652DUI Ser No78-XLMC6 02/02 for which I have no information (it was gifted to me!!) it operates with Windows XP professional. I have attempted to obtain info from your site and Lenovo but this model appears not to exist? My problem is that after a minute or so the monitor/screen breaks up and disapears. My simple solution was to connect via a USB port a second slave monitor. However despite many attempts to connect, the second monitor fails to respond. Any advice from 'someone who knows??' Thank you in advance from a new boy! Brianmallorca

Hello - I don't know exactly which kind of Thinkpad you have, but most(all?) Thinkpads have an analog VGA video port on them. You're easiest/best bet on hooking up an external monitor would be to plug the monitor into that port.

Hello AMATX, many thanks for your response. I had actually plugged in the slave monitor to the VGA port with no luck. However since logging in I have checked the site further and found a response which suggest using Fn-F7 keys which I have yet to try. I have also discovered that this Thinkpad is of the A30 series. I am learning more all the time!!
