Battery Recommendaton for T30?
Battery Recommendaton for T30?
I am thinking of getting a replacement battery for my T30. The laptop specs are it is a number 2366KU1 T30 with a 2.00 GHZ processor and 2 gb of RAM. Also, I'm wondering what kind of run time I would get with a new battery.
If you've purchased a replacement battery, or have advice about what to buy, please pass it along.
Thanks in advance for the help.

The folks over at the T60/61 forum prefer Panasonic. The T30 version is 02K7037 (i.e. Panasonic).
If you don't use your machine everyday, you might as well replace the CMOS battery, too.
Here is my diary of how I went about finding a battery...

Thanks robert213, I'll check out your battery recommendation.
While looking for a replacement battery, I also came across a few services that offer to disassemble the battery pack and replace the cells with known "fresh" cells. They state that having the battery rebuilt gives you a better battery vs purchasing a complete battery that has sat on a shelf, and therefore aged. That seems to make sense, but then if you think about it, you have no idea how long the cells the battery rebuilder is using have been sitting on a shelf.

Re: Battery Recommendaton for T30?
I have attempted to recell a T30 and its a PITA.
The long, narrow batteries are pretty easy to do, and work fine after a refill. Keep in mind, you will NOT save any money doing this. Check comparable cells and you will see what I mean.

jronald - I wasn't going to re-cell the battery myself. I was going to send it to a service. It wasn't so much the money saved as the fact that they said they a rebuilt batter is assembled with fresh cells vs a new assembled battery pack that have been sitting on a shelf for an unknown and potentially long period of time,
