have to disconnect power to restart

Hi - my trusty T-60 is still running fine but it just stopped rebooting unless I remove the battery and the power cord, then it will start - suggestions ?

Rebooting as a restart? It freezes when you try to restart? Can you clarify the simptoms, please?

Is the CMOS still alive?
Is the main battery still alive?
Could the charger cable to DC-in be wonky?
Have you tried it with CD-drive removed?
Reseated memory after cleaning the gold contacts with an eraser?
Refreshed thermal paste?
