I’m planning to upgrade my T61 with a new drive to improve performance, but I need to confirm that two Middleton BIOS features are actually working.
My system originally had BIOS 2.30. After flashing Middleton’s BIOS using the boot CD, the version shows as 2.29. However, it seems that the SLIC table isn’t active—Windows 7 is still asking for activation. Because of this, I’m wondering if SATA II might also not be functioning.
What’s the correct way to verify or enable these features?
Also, does SLIC work on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems? I’m running 64-bit Windows and need access to all 4GB of RAM.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Help Enabling SLIC & SATA II After Flashing Middleton BIOS
There's nothing to activate - the faster SATA speeds should be happening once you upgrade to the Middleton BIOS. Run a benchmark on your SSD, if you're seeing maximum speeds of around 250 mb/s instead of half that, it's working.
Full access to RAM should Just Work even on the stock BIOS.
Windows activation - AFAIK, the updated SLIC table only applies to OEM installs. If you're installing windows manually like an ordinary mortal, it will still ask for a key regardless.

For SLIC activation, you need to load the correct XRM-MS certificate file and enter the product key.
