do ati firegl v5200 and/or v5250 support anti-aliasing?

is there an option for anti-aliasing with either of these cards? or, can it be forced?

Yes, they most certainly do (I think almost all videocards do, except maybe some really old ones).

Using Catalyst Control Center or ATI Tray Tools I can set Anti-Aliasing up to 6x on my ATI X1400.

If you leave it at the default (application-controlled), you can set it individually in every application/game that supports it.
