ati2dvag infinite loop blue screen

Hi,
I recently had to format and reinstall windows XP Pro sp3 on my T60 and since then but I don't think, ever before I have started to experience the infamousati2dvag infinite loop blue screen.
I didn't get it often but nonetheless tried most everything from uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, checking BIOS and so forth.
Sometime time ago I did experience Windows shutting down because of overheating but I fixed that then be cleaning the vents and now maintaining CPU temperature of usually 60C or less and now not ever over 65C (measured using TPFanControl). This notebook is almost used exclusively used with AC power so I have noticed that when the ati2dvag infinite loop blue screen occurs the notebook is always on battery power.
Any suggestions?
This problem did not occur while on battery prior to reinstalling XP and the battery seems to be holding a good charge but does this indicate the battery is on its way out? Cheers
