Lenovo System Update has been quiet for many months regarding my T61 model 7658cto, which is running Win 7 64-bit.
It has an Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965AGN.
Today I am offered "WiFi Driver for Intel Cards" version 14.2.0000, to replace the currently-installed version 13.04.
To my surprise, the readme file says that this latest update "resumes support" for the T61 and the 4965AGN.
Apparently support had been "suspended" in an earlier version, but the system seems to be working OK.
Would someone more knowledgeable please advise whether or not this is a necessary or helpful update?
Thank you!

Re: WiFi Driver for Intel Cards 14.2.0000
14.02.0000 brings two changes compared to 13.04.0000:
- (Fix) Fixed an issue that had connection failure when more than 4 devices
were connected using Intel My Wi-Fi Technology.
- (Fix) Fixed an issue where Event ID 5010 was logged continually in the
Windows system log when the Wireless LAN device was turned off with a
Cisco LEAP profile.
14.01.1000 didn't support the Intel® Wireless-WiFi-Link 4965AGN, that's why they're talking about "resumed support" with 14.02.0000.
13.04.0000 also supports the Intel® Wireless-WiFi-Link 4965AGN.
If you don't have more than four devices connected using Intel My Wi-Fi Technology and if you don't have a Cisco LEAP profile, you don't need the update

Re: WiFi Driver for Intel Cards 14.2.0000
Interesting.
I installed 14.2.0000 on the X61T manually, and System Update insisted of recommending 13.04.0000 for me.
FWIW, there's a 5300 instead of the original 4965AG in it.
Cheers.

Thank you very much TTY, I will happily ignore this update.
