I can't lift up the left palmrest on my T61 to add more RAM.

I have a T60 with a broken screen and a 2GB dimm and I want to transfer it into my T61. I only had to remove 4 screws on my T60 to get access to the ram, I did the same thing on my T61 and for some reason the left palm rest won't come up, it gives a lot of resistance, I even pulled as hard as I could and it wouldn't budge. I removed a significant number of screws on that side just in case but I still can;t get access. Here is a couple of poorly lit picture.

there is a little hook, right where it is catching. I use something sharp and release the front corner from below (right under the place where "1394" is printed) It will then slide to the left. That "hook" is the first thing you put bask. Then do the edge next to the keyboard. The front edge snaps in last.

There are 4 screws labeled with an outline of a memory chip.
You "might" have missed one of them.

The instructions says to lift up from the side, where there is a little ridge.
I think the pix with your finger is actually making it worse. Based on the instructions, I think by lifting it up from the middle (as in your pix) you might be pushing the catch further into the notch. Try lifting from the outside of the palm rest. That is how I opened mine.

There is a little tab on the side, put your finger under the back corner of it and push up, it should pop up. I normally have trouble getting the right side up, not the left side, so YMMV.

Good Luck
