Mystery PCIe slot on T61 models.

All the documentation for the T61 and T61p models list it as having two PCIe slots, yet there appears to be a third "half height" slot that is never occupied on any of the systems I've worked on.

Here is a photo....

Next to this mystery slot, there is the PCIe slot 1 containing a wifi card, then on the far left is the PCIe slot 2, that often is used for Intel turbo memory, but this slot is never occupied. My best guess is it was a feature that was never fully added to the model, but I've been tempted to try it and see if it actually works, but perhaps someone knows and can tell me what exactly this is, and if it is any use.

That mystery slot is the space where a SIM-card reader would fit if you have WWAN

Thank you.

It does look exactly like a (half height) PCIe slot, but I guess if it could be used as such, it would be better documented.
