I'm getting ready to swap out the display and keypad on my 14.1" SXGA+ T61. I had an accident with a latte last year that left a permanent diffuse area in the lower portion of the LCD. I suspect that when I open it up, I'l be seeing latte residue and other debris, as well as fleckka and goobers stuck about.

QUESTION: What is the best way to clean this stuff out?

I was planning to use a 1/2 inch paint brush and Q-tip swabs for use in applying, wiping and soaking up isopropyl alcohol that would be applied to clean off any residue that is found.

Any other advice or suggestions? TIA

You may need some water and or soapy water to break up coffee residue. I'd recommend a toothbrush too, but make sure you let it dry for a considerable time before applying any electric after using water near electronics. Distilled water is safer if you have some. You can even make some with your capichino machine that you probably have if your latte is any good lol, just let the steam condence, without the minerals the water won't conduct and is safer around electronics.

Just be careful and you should be fine, and after you've let it dry out, let it sit open another 12 hours just to be sure.
