T61 xp pro recovery on a T60

I have a T60 (2007G42) with product key and no recovery discs (old company laptop sold to employees). I can get hold of the recovery discs from a T61 (friend), and I can order new set to a T60 (from lenovorecovery.com). But, if the T61 recovery discs can be used, then I can save 32$. It's just at backup computer, so I don't want to waste to much money on it.

Any one who knows about this?

I have tried to use a non branded XP pro, at changed the PID in settup confi file, but this doesn't work. Product key is not accepted. I have also tried F11, but apparantly there is no hidden partition with the original xp pro install.

The T61 CDs will likely work, but some drivers may not be included, and you'd have to install them manually at the end of the process.

Thanks. The drivers on the original T60 recovery discs a probably old anyway, so that's not a problem. I have nlite, so I hope I can figure out how to make an up-to-date disc.

I can confirm it works. Took 3 hours, but not much user input needed.
