Help!! T60 won't power on...

Hello all,

This past weekend my terrific girlfriend spilled a glass of wine on the table my laptop was on, and although she says that it didn't reach the laptop, I'm pretty sure it did, seeing as how it now will not turn on. I have taken apart the laptop and there is no visible damage to the motherboard or any other internal components, which is part of the reason I think I might have a bad DC jack. When the laptop is plugged in none of the screen lights turn on (plugged in, charging, etc). I'd really like to try and save the laptop if I can seeing as how I've spent a couple hundred recently upgrading to a SSD and it's ram. I'm not sure if anyone has any suggestions or any past experiences like this. Thanks in advance!!

This will fix it for a very reasonable cost (if your current T60 has an Intel GPU, then you'll also need a new fan/heatsink for $10, and if you have the Verizon WWAN card installed, you should check with the seller to see if there is a mini-PCI card slot on this motherboard) --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/330561687061

I suppose if you can't find any corrosion, then it's possible that it's the jack - although I've never seen a bad one. They're only a couple of dollars to try. However, sometimes you just need a tiny bit of corrosion in the right spot to kill a motherboard. Also, residual white wine may be harder to spot than red wine - not sure who was drinking what...

This one supports the ATI GPU --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thinkpad-T60-T6 ... 0766305892

Good luck.
