Fingerprint drivers in fresh XP install

What is the bare minimum I need to install to get the fingerprint reader working on a T60p type 8743? I know I was able to get it working a year ago on a fresh install of XP but my HD just failed and I'm setting everything up again. I installed the ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software v5.6.2 and am getting the error "Cannot find fingerprint sensor device" when I try to enroll.

I just jumped through a bunch of hoops to get all the drivers installed and there are now no unknown devices in Device Manager, although all my USB Host Controllers are showing an exclamation point, I don't think that's related though.

Thanks in advance!

By the way, I have no "Biometric" category in Device Manager. I can't recall having one before, but that may or may not be an issue? This wasn't complicated last time, but I wasn't trying to entertain an 8 month old then either lol

Not sure because I usually let "System Update" do the magic of finding and installing drivers for me. But I think you need the "Trusted Platform Module" drivers in addition to the finger print software package.

Thanks for the reply. I did get that installed earlier today. I have Amtel TPM showing up under System Devices. Do I need to install any other ThinkVantage tools?

Probably is related....have you installed Intel Chipset Support?

Seriously, this is a whole lot easier with "system update". I did it all a couple of days ago on a T43, and didn't have to search for anything, including finger print reader support.
