Best wifi card for T60 (regarding temp. vs performance)?

I want to upgrade wireless cards in both my T60p (4965AGN) and X60T (3945AG) but I wonder if anyone has any experience with the cards regarding temperature?

I prefer Intel cards and thought about 6200 or 6300 ones. But what do you guys think about the temperatures? The 4965 is known to be hot and it is not really felt in big 15" T60p chassis but the palmrest gets pretty warm ón X60T even with 3945 card. Couldn't imagine what it would be with 4965 :D

So, any suggestions?

I'm using the Intel 6200N in a T61 (14.1" 4:3) and in an X60s.
The temperatures are way lower in the X60s since I put in the 6200N.
I consider the X60s palmrest no more than lukewarm, wheras the previous card was hot!
Several people have followed my example in other X60/X61 machines, and all their reactions are the same: much cooler with the 6200N.

While I understand that you prefer Intel, IBM's atheros-chipped card (42T0825) remains my preference for *6x series.

Overall performance gain when compared to 3945 was very significant in my experience. YMMV.

I've also followed RBS recommendation and installed a 6200n in my X61s, the drop in temperature was considerably! And so far I never had any connection problems.

Thanks for the hints guys. I guess I will buy two 6300-N cards for both T60p and X60T since both have three antennas for wifi plus WWAN antennas (Ericsson F3507g's there).

Pardon if off-topic, would this also apply to T61 or T61P (15.4") units, ie. would it be really cooler to have 6200n or 6205 cards instead of a 4965AGN ?

Anyone have leads/sources for cooler Wi-fi cards for T61-15.4 inch and T61p- 15.4 inch models ?

Thanks for comments/tips

The 4965 is a full-size MiniPCIe card, producing 'full-size' heat.
The 6200-N/6300-N is a half-size MiniPCIe card, producing ca. 'half-size' heat. Needs a half-size adapter.
In the meantime newer variants have come out, 6250-N/6350-N which include Wimax.
Any laptop with MiniPCIe slot can take any of these cards.
Some BIOSes may need to be modified.

Thanks RBS.

So with a half size adapter I can use any of the smaller cards like 6200-N/6300-N ?
That's good to know
