T60 w/ Advanced dock and sapphire 4350 1gb card

#1 Post by zinoncus » Thu Jan 12, 2012 9:31 pm

Hi all
I have a T60 2.0ghz dual core only 1 gb ram etc.. blah with an internal radeon 128 (of which the drivers i have left out of my fresh install of win 7 ultimate)
I also have an advanced dock that in which i have intalled a sapphire 4350 1gb hdmi video card and things dont seem to be going well.
the fan, i believe, is on... but i had to take a pliers to the insides of my dock in order to get it to fit and there isnt much space for me to take a peak... i feel cool air by the card fan outflow so im guessing its not the dock fan...
eh >__< just because the fan is powered on dosent mean there is enough power to make the card work, i know this... the drivers for the card work but in my device manager i get a big CODE 10 (not that its any help to me... considering that could mean a bunch of things....) it also said it detected an "incomplete build" somewhere down the line... i know somthing probably obvious is wrong but i cant quite seem to wrap my monkey brain around it this time.... and it usually serves me so well.... help?
thank you in advance to anyone who replies

wow totally got it to work. just had to set the bios display setting to pcie display and i somehow got the ati driver auto downloader to work... wasn't working before for some reason. NOW I'M RUNNING A 1 GB GFX CARD on the bottlenecked dock.... it works well... really well but for some reason I can't get catalyst manager to install... so its hard to mess with, oh well...

Did you need to make any modifications over the graphics card considering hardware? Also, is it possible to use active cooling on such graphics when plugged into advanced dock pci-e?
