Hi guys,

Haven't posted for a while, but keep reading.

Right, so I changed my optical CD/DVD drive from a t61p to a t60p. Same drive/FRU BUT windows 7 keeps telling me that I am ow able to remove the drive. Very annoying.

I removed the drive, removed driver, rebooted several times, with/without the drive, but to no avail. Windows 7 32-bit ULT keeps trying to eject the optical drive.

Anyone know what to do?

It is probably because there is a registry entry that is telling windows that your internal drive is external. See this post and see if it is any help: http://superuser.com/questions/12955/ho ... -tray-icon
