QXGA panel source
QXGA panel source
So I have it in my head to build an ultimate 15" T61/T60 with a QXGA screen. There are some threads here linking to sellers, including one that had new panels for $130, but these links don't seem to work anymore. The ones I've been able to find easily with Google are $400. I don't want one quite *that* much right now - is there another source people here know?

Re: QXGA panel source
AFAIK the only Thinkpad model that was available with QXGA (2048 x 1536) was the 15" R50p.
Other than a refurbished panel on eBay I have never even seen QXGA.
Several other models (A22p, A31p, T42p, T43p, T60p to mention but a few) came with 15" UXGA (1600 x 1200).
And now these are getting rather hard to find.

... I assume you're read already the thread The Complete 6x-series QXGA Thread and that you're also already searched this forum for relevant threads?
To me, it would seem logical to post your question in the first thread mentioned in this post... as doing this will automatically notify previous posters in that thread about a new post, and someone with actual experience may hopefully chime in...?
Good luck with building that ultimate Dream-ThinkPad!

Re: QXGA panel source
I have. That's how I learned that I want to do this. All the information in that and other related threads about places to buy these appears to be out of date.

Re: QXGA panel source
You've got to remember that ID Tech has been off the market for about five or six years now, and that the number of QXGA panels originally produced by them was nowhere near the figure for the UXGA ones...
Personally, if I really wanted an NOS QXGA panel I'd pay whatever was asked for it, since they are only going to become more expensive as the time goes by...
Good luck.

Re: QXGA panel source
There is a fully loaded T60p with QXGA panel on ebay. The panels seem to be very hard to come by these days so that would be a good base to put a T61p board in
