T60P Speaker volume - Ubuntu vs Windows

#1 Post by Marf » Sun Jan 22, 2012 12:25 pm

OK what gives?

I've played around with various Ubuntu releases on my T60p and cannot help but notice that the max volume in Ubuntu is much louder than in windows.

How do I get the same level of volume in Windows?

Experiment with different drivers.
Find out who made the Ubuntu driver, then find out if they also supply one for Windows.

I've noticed the same thing. In fact, I've had to add an amplified speaker to get sufficient sound on the XP partition, while the ubuntu partition is much better.
