any known issues i should be concerned about? Does it run particularly hot?

I was using a t43 14 inch model. It stopped working due to southbridge chip issues - after 6 years of use it stop recognizing the hard drive.

They are 15" SXGA+ (not 15.1 and not sxga).
There are no serious problems about the T60p, except they run way hotter than a regular T60.
If you don't need all the graphics horsepower, go for a regular 15" T60.
They can all have XGA, SXGA+ or UXGA LCDs.
Graphics options: Intel integrated (up to 128MB shared), ATI X1300 (64MB dedicated), ATI X1400 (128MB dedicated), ATI V5200/V5250 (256MB dedicated).
For everyday use (browsing, email MS Office), Intel gfx is more than good enough, and is better on battery life.

T60p has the most powerful GPU, and quite often also has a powerful CPU (like T7200/T7400/T7600) ex factory.
Most come with SXGA+ or UXGA LCDs. On 15" models these are IPS screens, the 14.1" are not.
Other than that, they are virtually the same as a T60.

so when you say it runs much hotter, how much hotter is it? my t43 would heat up a bit.

i am looking at this t60p on ebay; is it going to get really hot?

T60p Lenovo 2.33GHZ T7600
ATI PCI Express x16- FireGL V5250 256MB
15" TFT 1400 x 1050
WITH FLEXVEIW SCREEN-HIGH DEFINITION LCD
Model: 2007-YS3

I'd suggest checking the forum's Marketplace, and possibly posting a WTB (want to buy) ad there...

As for "how hot"...a 15" unit will run cooler than a 14" when all the other parameters are the same.

CPU/GPU idle on these machines should be in high 40s or low 50s C....2007-YS3, that is.

Jake, to give you an idea what to expect to pay for the 2007 ys3, I can get them without any blemish for about $300. Most serious flexview buyers want a screen they can spend hours staring at looking for defects and not find one... you won't find anything like that one ebay as far as I know. I had one that had two barely noticeable spots on the screen that I sold for $210, which was probably better then 99% of the ones on ebay, and I'm referring to the ones without detailed photos and descriptions, if you find a seller that is offering their own person unit, then you might find something nice, the rest are all usually blemished, despite the claims of how wonderful they are. The description of the item being "used" the ebay inserts allows it to have any number of blemishes, so if you can't see the actual one your getting, then assume it's going to have physical and screen defects.

Hi! Why don't you get a T61 with an Intel x3100? its powerful enough to run Win7, and its the coolest thing i have ever seen.

P.S. I bought it a few days ago, and now its my first machine (oh, Macbook Pro 2011, what a pity! ;))

Jake, I recently purchased a T60p from the same Ebay seller (I believe, since 'Flexveiw' is spelled wrong in every listing) for just over $200 and am very pleased with it. I would say the screen is excellent compared to my very good R50p and fair T42. It sounds like you're more concerned about heat though. It's not really an issue for me since it stays on my desk but it does get warm.
