Hi,
I am upgrading my T61 from Vista to Windows 7.
Anyone have any lessons learned or best practices that could help me?
Your advice would be greatly.

Re: Upgrading from Vista to Win 7
Based on past experience, I prefer to do a clean install, rather than an upgrade. A clean install avoids bringing the baggage of the old OS. Plus it gives me the chance to start CLEAN, w/o some of the garbage that I never seem to be able to clean out of my system.
And if you are running 32 bit, this gives you a chance to go 64 bit.
I put 8G of RAM in my T61 to avoid running out of memory, which my 4G XP machine does. But you need a 64 bit OS to break past the 4G limit of the 32 bit OS.

Yes, I prefer a clean install too. Then I like to make an image with True Image, which I can replace at any time if there's a problem. Then just run any needed updates.
