t60p screen trouble

#1 Post by kjkkjk » Fri Feb 03, 2012 11:25 am

hi there,

i managed to snipe a t60p on eBay last weekend and it arrived today

the listing said it had a dead screen and when i looked up the model number (2008 93g) i found it had the fabled uxga ips screen so took a gamble, won it for 68 pounds (it also came with a docking station and all the original parts)

when i tested it the screen was lighting up and all the lights on the bottom lit up too so i opened it up and found that the cable to the screen itself was loose so i reconnected the cable and it lit the whole screen up with the windows xp desktop :D

i now have a line on the right of the screen around 3-5 pixels wide and was asking if this is the cable or screens fault?

thanks

You could try reinserting the LCD cable in the back of the LCD a few times, but, more likely than not, that's an irreparable LCD column driver problem.
