white screen but good on external monitor

Just installed a used screen on a laptop I bought cheap locally. The screen on it was broken but displayed the bios fine, so I got one off eBay but now after replacement the screen only shows white. I have just taken two other laptops apart today so before I did this one again I thought I'd ask if it was something like the cable/MB connection or really what did you think.
Thanks,
David

We can't begin to figure out what will or will not work until you tell us what parts you're trying to combine.

Silly question: did you connect both ends of the LCD cable?

It was late.

Sorry. I'll work it out.

white screen usually means unplugged cable. It is easy to have the connection inside the screen assembly come apart unless you use a new tape sticker to hold it.

Yeah, plugged the old one back in and got a partial screen. Man I hate disassembling screens. Guess that's what I am looking at just to be able to get the cable on back of the panel seated. ugh

David, not to sound like a broken record and repeat myself, but don't you think if you're asking for help you should identify what kind of computer and what parts your dealing with?
Unless you want advice that could potentially destroy your computer, you really should provide details.
