I have a t61, and I would like to use a program called (or about) key customiser. I downloaded the software, but I don't know how to access thinkvantage.

I am trying to disable the back and forward keys. And, I am an idiot. I downloaded the program, and I couldn't get it to work, so then I downloaded a whole bunch of crap trying to figure out how to use the thinkvantage things. I ended up with a toolbox and whole lot of other crap.
I figured out what my problem was. When you download the key customiser from Lenovo's website and click on the executable it doesn't install the program but places the files in the driver folder, and then you have to go to the driver folder and click on the exe file which installs it.
I don't even know if I should leave the toolbox on my computer.

Throw that piece of RAM-hogging space-debris out!
The toolbox is foisted upon unsuspecting users, and is nothing more than a variety of PC-Doctor. Be rid of it!

It's made by

I wouldn't put it on the laptop/PC itself, but instead run it from a CD, and then only if you need it.

yes, most drivers unpack in the c:\drivers folder and then you have to run them individually to install what you want.
from the ThinkVantage crap I only use these:
- active protection
- fingerprint software
- power manager
- easy eject
- touchpad utility (dont really use it actually but just have it for my Fn-F8 to be working)
- keyboard customizer (dont actually use that one either but it's nice to have)
