Anyone have this chipset running on their T60? How well does it perform?

It is an excellent chip if you are not going to play games from after 2007 or so. Also, some of the more demanding games from after 2004 will be unplayable. Does not support shader 2.0 and hardware TnL, but is otherwise a very strong card. Considering how cool and quiet it is, I think it is the best choice for a work-centered laptop.

If this is a productivity machine, you don't want better graphics. If you want to game a lot, get something else, but be warned - stronger cards make for hotter and noisier T60s.

Well it "sort of" supports shader 2.0 in the driver but it isn't true hardware support.

Performance: 3/10 (very weak chip....games like GTA: San Andreas and Max Payne 2 will run though)
Temperature: 9/10 (Runs really cool)
Reliabilty: 8/10 (never seen any hardware problems - but some games and graphics instensive apps may give you problems)
Power Consumption: 8/10 (Very energy efficient, but netbook versions of the 950 or a 3150 save even more power)

Overall: 7/10

I love it.

Currently strongly considering throwing an Intel-based T60 board into a 15" T60p frame and building a Linux box.

If you're not a gamer, and can live with the 3GB RAM limit, it will do everything you need and then some.

My current T60 with Intel runs cool and quiet. I was pleasantly surprised after a previous and not so pleasant experience with ATI.
