You know, with all of this stress testing you are doing to see if you may possibly have a hardware issue (which I don't think you do) it's very likely that you are unnecessarily stressing the components so that you actually WILL cause a hardware failure in the end. It's almost like you want the machine to fail in a way...seriously, just leave it alone and use it and stop all the testing. Drivers are sometimes going to hiccup and cause issues.

It's also nothing new, but Lenovo never designed these laptops as gaming machines...yes some have higher powered discrete graphics, but for the most part this was done for workstation use. Should the laptops still be able to play games? Well obviously yes-but just know that Lenovo designed the hardware and tweaked the drivers for usage other than gaming.

So stop worrying so much-just use the machine knowing that it has a finite lifespan and one day, it will fail. Just be putting back some spare change in the meantime for a replacement motherboard for when that time comes.
I lost count...

The laptop has a nice cooling mod that prevents temps from going beyond 79* after 6 hours of stressing the GPU and CPU to %100 (both GPU and CPU)
It just bothers me cause right now I ordered a T9300, 4GB DDR2, a new bottom base platic and a brand new front screen bezel!
It would be a huge waste of time and money if after all that the GPU fails.....i love this lapot!
Everybody i know tells me that it looks ugly....i see the true beauty in the t61!
Its like a car for me lol!!!
IS there a way that can %100 tell me if its a hardware or software problem?
BTW - no garbled screen or anything like that....could it be bad ram that the GPU uses as shared memory?
The lenovo suppport page says that if there are 2 dimms installed in the T61/t61p, it is possible that the driver can crash! :/

You could have taken that money and purchased a backup/replacement motherboard since you are so paranoid of it failing.

Listen-you are constantly testing the hardware and it's not showing a problem. Don't you think that by now you've ruled out that its a hardware issue?? If you think it might be the RAM, then download and run Memtest on the machine for a day or so and see if it shows any errors.

I'm actually getting the same BSOD occasionally when starting YouTube videos. No other signs of any video trouble.

Looks like a bug somewhere between Flash and the old Nvidia drivers that Lenovo provides us.

I'm gonna try an update to the latest driver Nvidia has on their own site, 296.35.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-not ... river.html for the 64-bit version.
Current: 365XD (120 MHz, 72 MiB, 6.4 GB, 4x CD-ROM, 10.4" TFT)
Past: T61p 15.0" QXGA, T60p 15.0" QXGA, X61 Tablet SXGA+, R51e 14.1" XGA, X21
