Hey guys,
I'm hoping you can help me out. I have a T60 that I'm repairing and it won't boot. Was wondering if anyone had any idea what might be wrong. When I press the power button, the power cuts immediately, no beeps, nothing.
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

The hardware maintenance manual (available for download on the Lenovo website) indicates that possible causes are (1) loose connector, (2) bad DIMM, or (3) system board.

Thanks for the reply. It don't think it's loose a loose connection, as I've checked them. I'm assuming they're referring to the power jack connection to the motherboard?
Can't be a bad DIMM since they work fine in a different T60. That and I tried 6 different sticks.
I suspected a bad board, but deep down hoped it wasn't.

If you disconnect the A/C cord does it still not boot up? By that I mean, disconnect A/C, remove battery, hit power for a few seconds, then reinstall battery and try to boot up.
Mine has done this for quite a while, no idea of the true cause, now it dies if I exit standby with the A/C cord in. So everyday to bring it out of standby I remove the A/C and hit FN, once it lights up I plug the cord back in. Kind of a pain, but don't feel like fixing it. Does it with either XP or Win 7 drives so it has to be a hardware issue.
