Speakers stopped working

Like the title says, my system speakers stopped working.
Audio works fine through headphones.
No conflicts showing within windows.
T61p 6458-AM2

Using the factory IBM bios.
I was in the bios a few days ago just looking around (sound was working then) and I enabled a few things that were non-speaker related (I thought);enabled VMM and also I turned on the USB always on for charging. Went back and reversed those changes but still no luck. Is there anything in the bios for the system speakers or was that just a coincidence? First noticed them not working today.
The only other change I have made recently is installing the fancontrol program.

Thinking about restoring all bios defaults but haven't tried it yet.
Any helpful thoughts?

Does this make noise?

In BIOS, go to Config-->Alarm and enable the Power Control Beep. Hit the volume up a few times to make sure it's not muted, and then pull-and-reinsert the power plug once or twice. Use headphones to confirm that the beeps are there, and then repeat without headphones.

Fixed. Thanks for the help. Ended up just restoring all defaults in bios and now the sound works.
