Driver loading failed error when trying to update BIOS

I have a TP T60 - 6369-6RU running Win7 x64, 4GB Ram

I have downloaded the BIOS update (install from OS) from Lenovo but I am getting the error Driver loading failed error when trying to update BIOS. The utility cannot proceed.

I haven't found any suggestions in searching Google - does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening?
