Mobility Modder Driver for V5200 - Which Ones Are You Using?

So, I did a clean install of Win7 a few months ago and am having a little trouble with the video drivers. This is weird, because I never had problems in the past. I always used Mobility Modder with whatever latest ATI drivers were available, and it all installed correctly. I assume that there has been a change to Mobility Modder since I can't get ANY ATI driver of any version to install properly now, even with Mobility Modder. So, I am stuck using the Win7 Automatic Update driver that works well enough, but lacks Catalyst Control Center and causes me to lose control of screen brightness after closing the lid for more than a few minutes. 3D performance also isn't quite as good.
So, has anyone recently found a way to install new ATI drivers with Mobility Modder or something like it? Heck, if someone can point me to a useful resource, I will hack the .inf files if I have to.
Thanks!

I do a clean install of W7 on my T60/p units with no Internet connection, and then push the latest Vista graphics driver that exists on Lenovo's site which is far from new, but works well for my needs...
Good luck.

I use W7 V5200 drivers from Windows Update and these work perfectly: they are fast and don't give any compatibility issues.

Well, I got it figured out. Some old posts here mentioned that Catalyst 10.2 drivers were the last ones to have legacy support. So, I went to the ATI/AMD site, used the driver selector & chose drivers for DESKTOP Radeon X-x6xx cards & Windows7x64. That takes you to the 10.2 package download.
Next I uninstalled all ATI drivers and ran Driver Sweeper after rebooting into Safe Mode. Then I rebooted again.
From there, I unpacked the 10.2 package and applied Mobility Modder to the files. Then I ran setup, and it all worked fine. I guess I must have tried every version EXCEPT 10.2 a few months ago.
I can say that these drivers are significantly better than the Win7 auto-update ones. Frame rates in a few games and in my CAD application are noticeable higher, even with anisotropic filtering set to 16x. Having control over the 3D quality settings via CCC again is nice! Smoothness in web browsing also improved, flash video quality is up since the drivers seem to be properly scaling full-screen images, and full screen video no longer has tearing / v-sync issues.
So, I highly recommend these drivers! It seems that you MUST use Catalyst 10.2 though.

You are the man. The modding of that driver sent my FPS on the T60p from 20-24 to 30-34 FPS! Thanks for the tip!

I followed bmwman91's instructions faithfully and tried these drivers, but they didn't work for me. My T60p is docked and attached to a WUXGA external monitor, and the monitor flashed on and off repeatedly to the point that the computer was unusable. I had to remove the drivers and go back to the package on the Lenovo website. BTW, the display worked fine until Windows 7 (64-bit) loaded. Reducing the DVI frequency through Catalyst Control Center helped some but didn't fix the problem. Any thoughts?
