Hi all,

I have been looking at countless posts regarding sources of NOS BOE-HYDIS panels and the one that keeps on coming up is the HV150UX1-101 sold on ebay.

Now, i realise there are many many happy members of this forum who have purchased from this particular seller, but i have some "reservations" regarding this and wondered if anyone could help clarify it. Anywhere i have looked - HMM, Thinkwiki etc - there is no mention of HV150UX1-101...only HV150UX1-100 & HV150UX1-102.

So my question is, where has this panel come from? Was it ever fitted into T60p's from factory or supplied by Lenovo, because i havent come across any "official" mention of this particular panel?

Thank you Zaz! I did actually take a look at that thread and i'm not one to doubt others opinions (obviously people are happy with the quality of the panels), i'm more curious as to what/where these panels are from...

I can vouch for the -101 display sold by cgsplcd on ebay, although I can't speak to the origin of these panels. They are not marked with any IBM/Lenovo part numbers and my assumption is that they were made for another manufacturer and have been reflashed with the Lenovo EDID (it reports itself as a -100 in HWINFO64). I bought a couple and see no differences from the -100 in my 6 year old T60p, other than being brighter and less yellow.

I ordered the panels on a Monday and they were on my doorstep in California three days later. They are flawless as best as I can tell. I can recommend cgsplcd's HV150UX1-101 without hesitation.

Also while you're at it pick up a keyboard or two from ebay seller vns_auto. He has the coveted NMB keyboards in like-new condition for $20/ea.

Or maybe just a a generic version of the IBM/Lenovo HV150UX1-100 - :??:

I can also confirm that the HV150UX1-101 are flawless Grade-A NOS IPS/FlexView panels that work perfectly out-of-the-box in the standard 15.0" T60/p's - :thumbs-UP:

Guys, thanks for the votes of confidence. It was more a case of curiosity, and the desire to have "the real thing" - but i shall bear what you've said in mind, if/when i decide to purchase one... or two.

Just keep one thing in mind. These panels are NOS (new old stock). They haven't been manufactured since 2006 and as a result they are getting harder and harder to find. So if you wait there is no guarantee that when you decide that you want one that one is going to be available.

Personally after experiencing my first Hydis UXGA screen on a T60 I quickly purchased another and salted it away for whenever this panel dies or gets dim as there really is no other option available for T60/T61 (Frankenpad) owners who want/need a high resolution screen.

Yeah. I was the first person to purchase one of those keyboards, back when he had 20 listed, and after it arrived I wrote a short post and linked to the auction in the Marketplace. I thought they'd sell fast but so far he's moved 120 of them in less than a month. Funny thing is he has two other types of T60 keyboards for sale and combined he's yet to sell 20 of those keyboards. :D

I recently sold quite a few of those NOS screens, that were manufactured in September 2008!

I defer to you as one of the resident experts but I thought I read that they ended production in 2006. I likely got the years mixed up. Either way the overall point stands. These screens are not made anymore and they are getting harder to find by the day. So if you want one.......
