T60p will not power on, AC and battery LEDs not lighting

Hello all,

I have a wonderful new (used) T60p I've been using for a few weeks now. Up until this week, I had been plugging into the wall without a battery, and all was well. I received a used genuine battery from Thinkpad Lover, and it tested ok. I used the laptop with battery in and plugged into the wall (both power and battery LEDs lit).

Just today, I plug it in to notice that the power LED doesn't light. The machine will not start with or without the battery. I've tried removing the memory and HDD, pressing the power button 10 times and then another time for 30 seconds (did this both plugged in and unplugged).

Does anyone have other suggestions?

I don't mean to hog forum space.. but if anyone's got anything :(

If there are no fixes, should I get a new mainboard? Sell it?

Try reseating the keyboard and RAM.

Try another keyboard if available.

Good luck...

I had the same problem with a T60p. Turned out to be the LCD cable. Replaced cable, all is well. :)
