Fn+Spacebar: What now??

#1 Post by llamov » Wed May 09, 2012 4:39 pm

I was playing around with the Fn keys on my T60. I hit the Fn+Spacebar in order to magnify screen contents.

It worked fine, but now I can't seem to figure out how to reduce it back to its' original size.

Pretty stupid, eh?

Can anyone help?

Not sure, as I've never used the feature, but I would think that Fn+space was to toggle on and off. If not then, I would try just Fn alone, or Esc alone and see what happens.

Got it!

I restarted the computer. Everything returned to normal.

Thanks for your input, Neil.

I just do Fn+Spacebar again to return the screen to normal size. Not necessary to reboot at all. Works on the native T60 screen as well as external screen using DVI output from dock.

Also, sometimes the screen resolution can become "stuck" in a lower resolution setting, giving the impression that the magnifier has not changed. One can simply move the resolution slider back up to the recommended scale setting in that case.

And if Fn+Space again to revert the magnification does not work for some reason, usually there appears a magnifier icon in the system tray, and you can manually close it from there.

Hi.
I have a W520 and I have a problem with it recently.
"Fn+Spacebar" does not work on my laptop and when I press these keys the laptop makes an error beep. It used to work well when I bought it but now it doesn't work anymore!!! Can somebody help me to fix this problem?
Thank you very much.

You probably reinstalled/replaced the hard disk/SSD and are missing some software.
Install the Hotkey program: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloa ... D=DS014985
If you are using a Linux flavor, you are probably out of luck.
