Hi
I did a stupid thing by interrupting the BIOS while it was udpating. It used the Whitelist modified BIOS. I dont know but there might been something wrong with the media i used as it was stuck for more than an hour then i restarted it. I've flashed bioses of other laptops and thinkpads before and it usually doesnt take an hour. Well after I rebooted it I get nothing but a blank screen. Z light is still on I could fee l the fan spinning. I tried removing the battery, hard drive and memory. When I remove the memory I get the usual beeps 3, 2, 1. I tried the Phoenix Crisis BIOS recovery but Im not sure how to get a .rom or .wph file from the .fl1 and .fl2 bios files from the original bios cd. Tried FN+B, FN+R with the bios cd and it would flash for a bit then stop. Is there any hope for my thinkpad? I'm in Toronto Canada and if there's anyone here locally that can help fix this, I'd be willing to pay.

thanks.

Neil

You can buy T61-model specific BIOS chips. They are tiny 8-leg chips, but with a fine soldering iron and infinite patience you can get your T61 fixed for about $30.- + shipping.

When you ask him, he'll flash it with any (Lenovo) BIOS you require.
Assuming you want Middleton's BIOS V2.29, ask him to flash it with Lenovo's V2.27.
