Anyone in the SoCal area?

Have a temp/fan noise issue with my GPU and CPU in my t60 as many do (I explained here, http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo- ... -100c.html, apologize if I'm not supposed to link).
It was suggested to me that I ask here, if anyone is in the SoCal area that I can pay to do the repairs I need to do because I'm fairly certain I won't be able to do them on my own and don't want to risk it (no really, I took out the screws and cleaned my computer with compressed air and almost cracked the case).
What has been advised for me to do is to change out the cooling fan for one from the t61p, apply thermal paste, and/or I also read here to replace the thermal conductive pad between the GPU and the heat pipe with a copper shim. Also, I'd be interested in someone upgrading the wireless card and possibly installing a SSD.

How did you know what I was doing last weekend?
Because what you need done is exactly what I did last Saturday to my wife's T60

I read your posts in other forum. Any decent computer repair shop can do what you need done
Maybe you should get a formal quote from them.

haha, maybe it will be cost effective if I shipped mine? Yeah, I guess I could take it to a random shop, that just doesn't feel as comfortable and likely to produce a successful result because they may not have the same love for Thinkpads and feeling of family that you get in Thinkpad forum discussions.

I'm sure there is somepone more qualified and experienced than me but let me know if you can't find anyone in LA. If you trust me enough, I'll take a look for you. I live near Wilshire and Western.

Oh okay, didn't look at the city you're from and made mistake of thinking you were from NYC because of your screenname, it'd probably be better to drive it to you than risk something in the mail since you're close enough. So you did/know how to do the copper shim too? Yeah, I'd be more comfortable with going to someone on here like you who would be able to do this vs risk having a random shop not having that same knowledge/love of thinkpads, but I guess it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to get a formal quote from a shop bc I have no idea what would be fair right now.
