I have connected my T60 ATI Radeon 1300 to an HDTV via HDMI. Display does not detect the TV? Any ideas?

Using a 2504 dock (~$15.-), a 6Ft. DVI-D to HDMI cable (~$5.-) and a 6Ft. 3.5mm stereo to RCA cable (~$5.-) will get your system going.

Does the HDTV have a DB15 VGA input? If so, try a standard VGA monitor cable.

I'm not sure about this, but I think the T60 must detect the HDTV at boot. Did you connect the HDMI cable to the TV before turning the T60 on?

Worked on reboot! But the highest resolution available is 1240 x 1080 and the TV is capable of 1920x1080. Any ideas?

I’ve been doing what you’re trying for several years with this setup:
T60 2007-72U
X1400 GPU
VGA cable
Win 7 Pro 32bit (64 also works - never tried with XP)
Driver 8.561 (probably from TVSU or MS Update – no CCC installed)

The key is changing: Control Panel > Display > Adjust Resolution > Multiple Displays
To: Show Desktop only on 2 (or whichever is detected as the TV)

Here is a cap from my Sony 1920x1080 TV:
