Would it be possible to swap the intel 3945abg mini pci-e card in my T60p 2007-93u laptop for something newer WLAN that is abgn with better reception out of some of the new lenovo laptops?
Also, would it be possible to add

Only one ’n’ card listed on the T60 parts list as being on the whitelist: ThinkPad 11abgn Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter FRU 42t0825, 42t0827.
Several on ebay:

I have purchased other items from the lowest price Chinese seller with no problems.
Or you could use modified BIOS that, among other things, removes the whitelist and will let you use any mini-PCIe card, that’s what I did.

No mSATA SSDs will work in the WLAN/WWAN slots of a T60 machine (or any ThinkPad earlier than the T420 generation, for that matter).

Ok. So when i buy the thinkpad 11abgn card. Do i need to install all 3 antennas? Because I am thinking about getting some u.fl to rp-sma cables and installing the 9dbi antennas on the back of the screen since my laptop never leaves the house anyways.
Also, how hard is it to remove the whitelist for the bios? I would like to open my options about what I can install.

Removing the whitelist only requires finding and installing a modded bios, but flashing a bios does have some risk. If the flash doesn't complete, your computer won't boot, so don't try it on an unstable system.
The third antenna isn't required, but if you want to add one, many have added it to the palmrest area instead of the lid. I'm currently using an intel 4965agn card in a T60p chassis with two antenna and it works fine, but I'm installing a third antenna as well as wwan antenna soon.
Also, contrary to many rumors, the 3rd antenna isn't used for "n" connections, it's for MIMO, which many wifi "g" access points support. If you want "n" speeds without MIMO, you can get the Intel 5100 card that uses only two antenna, but it will require a modded bios.

Does anybody happen to have the modded bios files for a T60P 2007-93u? Ive searched and searched and they all have broken links. If anybody still has the files from this post
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/thread ... post354748 that would be awesome. I just want to upgrade my wlan card to something that puts out more than 15dbn(32mw).
Does anybody happen to know how much power the Atheros card in the post 91011 made puts out? and if its on the whitelist does that mean I can just swap it out with no problems at all or having to flash the bios?

T60-79uj34us-SLIC2.1-NO-WHITELIST.rar (V2.27 which works on all 14.1" and 15"
Standard 4:3 T60/T60p) can be found here:

Mine is the 15" 1600x1200. So that file will work?

Yup, 1600x1200 = 4:3 Standard (as are 1024x768 and 1400x1050).

It would be nice if the forum had a database of links to modded bios. Obviously it would be "use at your own risk", but I think it would be an enormous relief to have some feedback from others who used it.
