Can T61 boot from SSD in express card slot?

#1 Post by bwaldow » Sat Jun 30, 2012 6:11 am

I read some articles online suggesting this may be possible for some machines, and there appear to be express card SSDs. I'm not clear though.

I searched the forum with those keywords, but only found posts about video cards.

Can this be done? (leaving a spinning hard disk for the big files). Is there a reason it's not worthwhile even if it can be done?

Thanks
Bret

You can not boot from a drive in express card because the BIOS of T6x does not recognize ATA / SATA controller connected to express card, if any.
