So i bought this excellent working barebone R61 (intel gpu) from ebay for $40 shipped mint condition.
It came with a 4965/agn card which i put into my t61.
The T61 only has 2 wires and the new N card has 3 connectors.
So i just took a little 3 inch long mini pci antenna wire from a dell 1150 and used that for the connector in the middle.
Should i replace that with a full lenght wireless antenna thats goes into the screen?

networking hardware is not my strenght :P

If you want a factory antenna set, I have them... you can send me a PM if you're interested, but you can get by routing the antenna to your palmrest area.

Also take a good look at that 4965 card, some will say model 4965AGN, and some are 4965AG. The latter has "N" disabled. It will still use the third antenna, but only for wifi G with MIMO, not N with MIMO. Another option is to get a model 5100, which has N support without MIMO (two antenna).

I did same upgrade on my other T61 and I'm using only the T1 and T2 connections. The R0 or whatever it was called is not connected. All is working fine, and I do connect at 300Mbps on my 5GHz network :D
