T60P Replacement Fan - 41W6407 or 41V9932 (2007-93U)

Hi there,

After 6+ years, the fan on my T60P (2007-93U) is finally dying and I need to get a replacement.

Does anyone know whether the 41W6407 heatsink+fan can be used, or must it be 41V9932?

I noted an earlier topic http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=89929 which seemed to imply that a 41V9932 can just about be used instead of 41W6407 on the later T60 models. How about the other way around (newer fan on the older model)?

The official Lenovo docs mention I should use 41V9932, but the above post seems to imply 41W6407 is a new and improved version. I have had shutdowns due to high temps in the past, so if 41W6407 would fit fine and would offer better cooling, that would seem like a good purchase.

Anyone able to confirm?
