What to look for?

Would someone be kind enough to point me in the direction of what to look for when buying a T61? Having read many post, what is the problem w/ GPUs before 08/08? What other things are considered, only the T61 can take the Middleton BIOS. Got a general understanding of the CPU avb. Any help would be appreciated and I'm not afraid to read.

The T61 models with Intel graphics are, of course, not affected, and the nVIDIA models built after 08/08 have the re-engineered chips. Almost all the chips before that date have the defect, but many have performed well all these years, and are still working fine, even with the manufacturing defect. However, many of them have failed as a result of the defect too.
